About 博天堂官方 Public Safety

The Public Safety staff is trained and licensed through the State of Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST). Public Safety officers have the authority as granted by the State of Oregon Legislature to issue parking citations under ORS 341.300.

How do campus officers support my safety?

By participating in safety and emergency response trainings, complying with regulatory expectations, providing safety plans and services, and employing appropriate institutional risk management strategies, Safety & Loss Prevention seeks to mitigate and minimize risks to lives and property.

How can I expect officers to treat me?

Campus Public Safety Officers shall be courteous, friendly, tactful, and diplomatic. In administering the college's policy and student conduct rules, they'll be firm, professional, equitable and pleasant. Officers are expected to use good judgment when dealing with members of the campus community, visitors and guests.

In what ways are campus officers authorized to act?

In addition to providing assistance when needed, the Public Safety Department works with the Facilities office (which maintains campus buildings and grounds) to promote safety and security on campus. The Public Safety Department and Facilities personnel regularly inspect the campus to ensure that safety hazards are remedied in a timely fashion and to ensure locks, windows and fire safety equipment operate properly.

Under the "Student Rights and Responsibilities" conduct policy, Public Safety Officers also have the right to request any person on the grounds of the campus to produce identification. Individuals have the responsibility under the same policy to comply.

For all other instances, the Public Safety Department maintains a firm working relationship and mutual cooperation with local law enforcement to ensure that all campus law enforcement needs are satisfied.

What should I do if I have a complaint?

If you need to file a complaint against the college for not following policy and procedures, have been discriminated against in any interaction at Linn-Benton Community College, or have been harassed by another person while at 博天堂官方, or wish to report any concern or complaint, please file your complaint with this form.
