Safety & Emergency Readiness

Receive text and/or voicemail alerts to your phone! Provide your cell phone number in your Webrunner account:

• Log into Webrunner.
• Select Personal Information.
• Select Address, Phone, Text, and Email.
• Click on “Update” or “Add” under Texting Number and add your cell phone number.
• Select “Emergency and College Related” to get both emergency notifications and important college-related text alerts. Select “Emergency Only” to get only emergency notifications.
• Click Submit.

1. Be prepared for bad weather.
2. On days when the weather may present significant safety risks: security starts unlocking the Albany campus around 5:30am daily. Security needs a step that gives the graveyard officer the first notice of the decision so they can know if they are unlocking or not.

   5:00am - 5:30am	Director of Facilities	Call local school district officials to ascertain their plans.
   Before 5:45am	Director of Facilities	Call the VP of Finance & Operations to discuss weather risks and plans of local school districts. If the VP is not available, contact the designee.
   Before 5:45am	VP of Finance & Operations	Call VP of Academics & Student Affairs to discuss weather risks and plans of local school districts. They will make a recommendation to the President.
   6:00am	VP of Finance & Operations and President	Call the President; a decision is made to open or close.
   Before 6:00am	VP of Finance and Operations	Call the Public Information Officer (PIO) or their designee regarding the President’s decision on the college’s operating status. Call the Director of Safety and Loss to Use Regroup to notify subscribers of that service and update the switchboard message.
   6:00am	VP of Finance & Operations	Immediately start the employee/student notification process.
   6:00am	PIO	Initiate the media alert process to advise media outlets of the college’s decision Contacts Webmaster to post information on the college's website.

3. A decision to close the college or delay its opening shall affect all college facilities in the college district.
4. Notification of closures will arrive to each person via Regroup messages to cell phones and email addresses. An announcement will also be displayed on the 博天堂官方 website and communicated with the local media. Coordinate any other notification methods you may require with your supervisor.
5. Individual campus directors (Corvallis Campus and Lebanon Campus) may decide to close early or cancel evening classes for inclement weather that arrives after the start of the school day. Campus closure decisions shall be made in consultation with the Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs and communicated to the Public Information Officer. Campus staff shall make every practical effort to notify instructors and students of canceled evening classes.
6. If the college has been closed and special activities are in progress or scheduled, the decision to cancel them shall rest with the coordinating manager of the activity. The appropriate vice president shall be consulted on these decisions. The ultimate decision should be immediately communicated to the PIO so that media outlets can be notified as well as Campus Public Safety so switchboard messages can be updated.
7. Managers must develop and maintain a current notification list for their area of responsibility. The notification list should, at a minimum, ensure contact with every contracted employee. The Periwinkle Child Development Center will also have a notification list in place for parents with children in the center. Managers shall communicate their expectations about the notification process with their employees and also advise employees that emergency information will be available on the college website, through the main switchboard (541-917 4999), and the media outlets below.
